Feelings ran high, and hearts burst when Chloe Kelly scored her goal for England against the eight-time champions Germany to win the Lionesses their first major championship and England’s first since 1966.
Why is this English team the best one we have ever seen?
Sarina Wiegman started the exact same eleven for every game this tournament, thus there was no room for egotism or upset on this team because everyone understands their place and respects the role they perform. Instead, the setup in England has been completely united. And this strong link hasn’t simply helped England succeed on the field; it has also inspired a nation off it.
